There’s no better way to learn about educational resources that are available to educators than to experience them personally. Careers in Ed students participated in an Art Therapy lesson with Mrs. LaCava from New River Health. New River Health educators are available for teachers in Fayette County to use in their classrooms to help students coping with challenges such as trauma and stress.
Careers in Ed students enjoyed learning about art therapy, meditation, and stress management techniques. They brainstormed how they can use these strategies to help students in their own classrooms one day when they become teachers. In the process, they created some beautiful pictures and also had a great time doing it.
